Reconstructive procedures are becoming more commonplace than ever before. As women and men seek to turn back the clock, undo damage, and look as young as they feel inside, many are seeking the long-lasting dramatic results offered by reconstructive procedures. From filler injections to facelifts, there are several forms of reconstructive procedures available from Utah plastic surgeons.

A complete face lift isn’t the only option; there are several less invasive procedures that provide significant benefits. Filler injections provide temporary relief from the appearance of deep creases and wrinkles on the face or neck as they plump out the skin. The results are quick and dramatic, with very little recovery time. There are also chemical peels and laser treatments for surface problems.

Botox, on the other hand, is not a typical filler. Botox is a controlled strain of botulism, targeting the muscles that cause the wrinkles underneath the surface of the skin. The Botox injection temporarily paralyzes those muscles, causing an instantaneous removal of the wrinkles. However, like the fillers, this is only a temporary solution and will require repeat treatments for maintenance of the results. People often request Botox treatments for pronounced brow wrinkles.

For those who wish to have a permanent solution for those creases of the brow, another option is a brow lift. The brow lift targets the skin and the muscles directly below the skin and is often done with a newer endoscopic procedure. Using incisions hidden behind the hairline, the plastic surgeon uses an endoscope through the incisions to perform the lift.

An eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) is often performed in concert with the brow lift for a unified change. This procedure often involves the lifting of droopy eyelids by removing fat, muscle, and excess skin from the upper lids. The lower lid can also be lifted to reduce baggy or bulging lower lids.

Rhinoplasty involves changing the shape of the nose, typically for aesthetic purposes but sometimes to repair damage. And hair restoration is another popular procedure.  In addition to these procedures, plastic surgeons can also do mini facelifts (involving smaller incisions that the typical facelift), standard facelifts, and even neck lifts for sagging or badly wrinkled necks.
