Eye Procedures

Our eyes undergo a variety of changes over time. Our skin may lose elasticity, brows and eyelids may begin to feel heavier, and lines and wrinkles may develop around the eyes, for example. Many people also see dark circles, hollowing, and/or puffiness around the eyes, creating a more tired looking appearance. Lashes and brows can also become thinner, contributing to a loss of brightness in the eyes. These changes may be a result of natural, intrinsic aging, sun exposure, and/or repetitive movement (such as squinting or frowning).

Many of these changes can mimic signs of fatigue and sadness. Therefore, correcting them can create a more vibrant, rested, and invigorated look. Youthful and rested appearing eyes allow us to present the most healthy and vibrant version of ourselves. After all—the area around the eyes is the first place that people see when they look at us.

At Barr Aesthetics, we offer a variety of services designed especially for treating eyes. Here is a brief look at eye procedures we offer.

Skin Treatment

A variety of procedures can be used to improve skin texture around the eyes.

Energy based treatments
  • Venus Viva: Nanofractional RF is combined with microneedling in a series of treatments that improves skin tone and texture.
  • Electrocautery: Cautery uses a fine metal electrode, which can correct irregularities such as milia and angiomas.
Injectables
  • Botox/Dysport/Xeomin: Neuromodulators soften muscle movement smoothing and preventing deepening of wrinkles.
  • Fillers: Fillers can be used to fill deeper wrinkles as well as improve the overall volume smoothing out lines.
Chemical peels

Chemical peels can be used to tighten, brighten and smooth wrinkles. The depth of peel recommended varies depending on skin type and complexion

Uppers Eyelids

The brows and/or upper eyelids can lower over time, resulting in a tired, heavy appearance. The following procedures can help correct heavy looking brows and upper eyelids.

Upper Blepharoplasty

Excess skin and fat are removed through an eyelid crease incision.

Upper Blepharoplasty
  • Botox/Dysport/Xeomin: Can be used to open the eye and lift the eyebrow.
  • Fillers: Used to restore a youthful projection of the brow and upper lid.

Temples

The hollow temple is a place often overlooked. Replacing volume to the skeletonized temple opens the eye and restores a more aesthetic shape to the face. This can be accomplished using fillers, fat, or implants.

Lower Eyelid

As we age, our eyes can become hollow or saggy, and the fat can pseudo-herniate, creating bags. The skin around our eyes also thins, and vessels can become visible. The following procedures can help restore the lower eyelids for a more youthful appearance.

Lower Blepharoplasty

Lower eyelid surgery can be used to remove excess skin, lift the corner or lid, and/or remove and reposition the fat to fill the hollow.

Fat Grafting

Fat grafting is a procedure in which fat is removed from one area of the body and transferred to a hollow area in the face.

Fillers

Fillers are a very precise method of filling lower lid hollowing, creating a more rested appearance.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels, among other benefits, offer kin tightening and pigment reduction benefits.

Nd:YAG laser

The Nd:YAG laser can be used to treat visible vessels in the lower eyelid (and temple).
