Rhinoplasty is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons estimates that more than 213,000 nose jobs are performed every year in the United States. People get rhinoplasty for a variety of reasons, including correcting function and improving their appearance and self-confidence. If you are considering rhinoplasty in Utah, you may be wondering about the cost and procedures involved. Barr Aesthetics is here to answer your questions.

How Much Does Rhinoplasty Cost?

Since every person is unique and has different wants regarding the final result of rhinoplasty procedures, it can be difficult to pinpoint an exact cost for nose reconstructive surgery. However, a ballpark estimate for rhinoplasty is anywhere between $5,000 and $8,000.

Factors that will affect your final cost:

  • The complexity of your procedure
  • Your choice of surgeon
  • Anesthesia fees
  • Surgical facility fees
  • Post-surgery care and follow-up appointments

Are There Different Types of Rhinoplasty Procedures?

There are two types of rhinoplasty procedures: open and closed. both are offered by the skilled surgeons at Barr Aesthetics.

What is Open Rhinoplasty?

Open rhinoplasty is done by making an incision on the outside of the nose, between the nostrils. This allows your surgeon better access to the inside of your nose so they can make any necessary changes.

Open rhinoplasty usually results in a small scar that is hidden between the nostrils.

Open rhinoplasty may be recommended if you have a deviated septum or other complex issues inside your nose that need to be addressed.

What is Closed Rhinoplasty?

Closed rhinoplasty is done by making incisions inside the nostrils, so there are no visible scars.

Closed rhinoplasty allows your surgeon to make smaller changes to the shape of your nose.

If you are only looking to make minor changes to your nose, closed rhinoplasty may be the best option for you.

Liquid Rhinoplasty

Barr Aesthetics also offers liquid rhinoplasty. This minimally-invasive procedure uses injectables to alter the shape of your nose without surgery. This form of non-surgical nose job makes use of hyaluronic acid and Botox, two very common fillers in the industry.

WHICH PROCEDURE IS RIGHT FOR ME?

The best way to determine which type of rhinoplasty procedure is right for you is to schedule a consultation with one of our experts at Barr Aesthetics. We will take a look at your individual case and help you make the best decision for your needs.

How to Prepare for Rhinoplasty

When you come in for your consultation, we will go over what you can expect before, during, and after your rhinoplasty procedure.

In the meantime, there are a few things you can do to prepare:

  • Avoid taking aspirin or other blood-thinning medication (ibuprofen, fish oil, etc.) for two weeks before surgery as they can increase bleeding.
  • Arrange for someone to drive you home after your procedure.
  • Get plenty of rest and eat healthy foods to boost your immune system.

Communication is an important part of preparing for your procedure; always voice your concerns with your doctor before going under the knife. We want you to love your results, and that’s easier to achieve if we’re all on the same page regarding the procedure and what it can achieve in your specific case.

What to Expect in Rhinoplasty Recovery

Rhinoplasty recovery generally takes about two weeks. During this time, it is normal to experience some swelling and bruising around the eyes which will gradually dissipate. You may also have some drainage from your nose for the first few days after surgery.

It is important to avoid strenuous activity and contact sports for at least six weeks post-op to allow your nose time to heal properly.

You will likely have some follow-up appointments with your surgeon to check on your progress and ensure that you are healing well.
