It can be a nightmare to look in the mirror halfway through the day, to see that the skin on your face looks scaly and your makeup is beginning to flake off. That’s not an attractive look. No matter how much you try to achieve dewy skin, it can seem impossible to have skin that looks fresh and young at all times. Dewy skin is a sign of healthy skin, dry and cracked skin is a sign of unhealthy skin. Dewy skin should always be your goal; you’ll be healthier, be more confident, makeup will go on(and stay on) much better, and your skin will look better naturally.

Drink more water

If you’re not getting enough water, it will show through your skin. Don’t let yourself get dehydrated! Make sure you’re drinking plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated. If you have a hard time remembering to drink water, try carrying a large water bottle around with you. If you have water sitting on your desk all day, you’ll be more likely to take sips throughout the day.

Pick the right moisturizer

There are so many different kinds of moisturizers for different skin types. Make sure that you try a few different ones to figure out what works best for your skin type. If you’re really struggling to moisturize your skin adequately, try an illuminating moisturizer instead of a regular one. These moisturizers will continue hydrating your skin throughout the entire day, leaving you glowing.

Highlight with coconut oil

This may seem strange, but this will give your skin the glowing illumination that you’re seeking. Coconut oil is very moisturizing, so it will not only help you achieve the look you want, it will also be great for your skin. This is a great option for no-makeup days.

Use a primer with hydrating benefits

You should primer even on days you’re not wearing makeup, as it can be great for your skin. Try to pick a primer that has a lot of restorative properties, such as honey, gold, and collagens.

Always wear an SPF on your skin

Sun can wreak havoc on your skin, and you’ll be suffering the consequences of leaving your skin exposed for the rest of your life. Protecting your skin is as simple as choosing a moisturizer that has an SPF in it. If your moisturizer of choice doesn’t have an SPF, get a low SPF sunscreen that’s specifically designed for use on the face so it won’t clog your pores, and apply that to your face after your moisturizer.
