Medlite Laser Treatment

Medlite laser treatment is one of the most advanced techniques on the market to treat dark pigmentation, and age or sun spots. It can also be used for tattoo removal to get beautiful results that leave your skin smooth and clear. Laser treatment can be used on a larger area at a lower setting in order to provide a general skin rejuvenation, as well.

The Medlite laser is often called the “workhorse” of many aesthetic offices because it’s able to do so much. Some places purchase a Medlite only planning to use it for tattoo removal, but its reliability and customization quickly make it the go-to for many different kinds of procedures. Read on to learn some of the amazing capabilities of this laser and what it means for our patients.

What does it treat?

  • Sun spots
  • Liver spots
  • Discoloration
  • Wrinkles
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Tattoos (including colored tattoos)
  • Freckles and moles

Who is a great candidate?

The Medlite laser can be customized to different skin types and areas, and so it’s a great option for just about everyone, whatever your age or skin color. Medlite laser treatment is especially effective for clients with colored tattoos which they would like removed, and for busy people who want to be able to get back to business without any recovery time.

What is it?

The Medlite aesthetic laser works by emitting short pulses of light. With laser technology, we’re able to treat your skin beneath the surface, targeting areas deeper in the dermis layer and going to the source of problems like discoloration and aging marks.

How does it work?

There are three major procedures that we do with the Medlite laser:

  1. Skin Rejuvenation: We can treat larger areas for general skin rejuvenation by using this laser on a lower setting. Laser pulses beneath the skin invigorate cell growth for fresher, younger-looking skin.
  2. Targeting Dark Spots: Liver spots, age spots, sun spots, and other reasons for discoloration can all be specifically targeted. Much like tattoo removal, the laser targets melanin (which is the cause of dark spots on the skin) and breaks it down to be absorbed and flushed out through the body’s immune system.
  3. Tattoo Removal: The Medlite laser is very commonly used for tattoo removal. Because it can be adjusted, we can target different colors, one at a time, breaking down the pigmentation to be absorbed and flushed out.

What should I expect from the procedure?

Usually, a procedure with the Medlite laser will require a few sessions, spaced a few weeks apart, of 30-45 minutes each. Patients will see results gradually after each procedure as the body processes pigmentation which has been broken down by the laser and absorbed by the body.

Laser treatment sessions don’t require any downtime afterwards. Your skin won’t need to recover. The Medlite laser is specially formulated to act in short pulses of light, which eliminates the risk of blisters, burning, and scarring that might have happened with lasers decades ago. It’s normal for patients to experience reddened skin, which will quickly go away.

Laser skin treatment is completely pain-free. Most clients report a tingling sensation that can actually feel quite pleasant and invigorating. If you have more questions about laser skin rejuvenation, or the removal of tattoos or dark spots, give us a call.
