Have you been considering nose surgery, but aren’t quite sure which type is right for you? At Barr Aesthetics we offer liquid rhinoplasty, open rhinoplasty, and closed rhinoplasty. All procedures are conducted by experts who want what is best for you.
Types of Rhinoplasty
There are a variety of reasons to have rhinoplasty or a nose job, and your needs will influence the route you take. So what is the difference between the nose job options?
Liquid Rhinoplasty
Liquid rhinoplasty is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that temporarily alters the shape of one’s nose with injections. Using either hyaluronic acid or botox, the injections can smooth nasal bumps and increase the appearance of symmetry. There is minimal bruising at the injections site(s), and liquid rhinoplasty results can last anywhere from 9 months to two years.
Open Rhinoplasty
Open rhinoplasty, also known as open nose surgery, involves altering the structure of the nose. For this plastic surgery, the skin of the nose is pulled back to give inside access to the nose. The effects of open rhinoplasty are permanent and it may result in faintly visible scarring. There will be a recovery period, and full results may not be seen for up to one year after the plastic surgery.
Closed Rhinoplasty
Closed rhinoplasty is a cosmetic nose reshaping that is conducted via interior incisions in the nose. The alterations are limited compared to open rhinoplasty, but the cartilage can still be reshaped via closed rhinoplasty. There will not be any visible scarring, and the recovery time is shorter than with open nose surgery.
What Type of Nasal Plastic Surgery is Best?
Depending on your needs and wants, the best type of nasal plastic surgery varies from person to person. What are your reasons for seeking a nose job? If you have mild corrections to be made, liquid rhinoplasty may be your best option. If there is extensive work to be done to repair the nose after an injury, maybe open rhinoplasty will offer the best results. If you want to improve breathing, then accessing the nasal passages through closed rhinoplasty could be beneficial.
